Hey everyone! Today, my post is about weddings. My mom's cake business helps me to learn a lot about wedding celebrations. I get to learn what different brides envision for their special day.
There is one wedding party idea I found that seemed really fun, but still sophisticated: old Hollywood. I love the colors, red, white, and black, and it is a theme that both the bride and the groom would like. I think red roses are really pretty. They signify love and romance.
This is a cake that was made for my piano teacher's daughter's wedding by Pink Cake Box. It incorporates the red roses with a top hat and lace. The lace was actually copied off of the bride's gown.
Click here to find some glamorous wedding dresses to match this theme. These are very over-the-top but are great ideas to start with when looking for a wedding dress.
There are many different things you can do with decorations. Your aisle might have a "red carpet." You might like your centerpieces and your bouquet to incorporate the red roses idea. Of course, you might want to add some other flowers, too, to make it a little more interesting.
This theme is so versatile and would be a great start to planning a wedding!

Valentine's Day Extravaganza!
KEEP IT CLASSY...NOT TOO TACKY!
Valentine's Day is a holiday full of love and chocolate. Originating as a feast day for St. Valentine, this day has become increasingly popular. All around the world, February 14th is a day to celebrate the special people in your life and what better way to do so than host a VALENTINE'S DAY PARTY?!When: Valentine's Day, of course!
Where: Actually, this party can be held at any venue - whether it is a fancy catering hall or the living room of your own home! What really matters are the decorations. Start with your usual pink and red. Find little heart shaped centerpieces to match your theme. Remember, try to keep it as sophisticated as possible! Hanging streamers or using balloons are usual party decorations but work great for this occasion as long as they stay within the theme. Another cute idea, all though it takes a little more time, is to create simple white heart strings. Cut out several white hearts and just string them to twine, yarn, or ribbon! The possibilities are endless for Valentine’s Day.
Food: The food for this party should also stay within the theme. You can find several great Valentine recipes, such as heart shaped food, but another idea would be to have regular finger food and use decorative heart toothpicks for the guests to grab! The party doesn’t need to be too fancy but another, more upscale option would be to hire a caterer if you prefer having a sit down meal. And of course, go crazy with the desserts! After all, Valentine’s Day should be full of sweets...some ideas include heart shaped rice cereal and marshmallow treats, cupcakes with pink icing and heart sprinkles, etc.

ENJOY THE PARTY!!
Love,
Sofia and Joanna
PS: We are sorry this came out a little too late to host a 2013 Valentine’s Day Bash. However, it is never too early to start planning for next year!
